Ours starts with James.

Depending on who you asked, he might have been Jim, Jimbo, Dad, Grandpa, or Smiles. But to the people who knew him best, he was simply "The Mule."

The nickname fit him perfectly. He was hardworking, stubborn when it mattered, dependable when life got tough, and always willing to carry more than his share of the load. Whether he was fixing something that wasn't supposed to be fixable, helping a neighbor, working long hours, or making people laugh until their sides hurt, The Mule showed up every single day.

But what most people remember wasn't just his work ethic.

It was his sense of humor.

James believed life was too short to take everything seriously. He could find something funny in almost any situation. A broken-down truck became a punchline. A rough day became a story. A family gathering became a comedy show.
